Scene 1
Ведуча: Hello everybody! We’ve gathered together for our Hallowe’en Party. We want all of you to enjoy the party, to be merry and jolly. Today is October, 31. But a week before… Look and listen.
Scene 2
(Клас . На стіні висить календар – 25 жовтня. Розклад – English. За партами сидять учні. Біля дошки – вчитель.)
Teacher: Dear pupils, as you know, in a week’s time we are going to have a Hallowe’en Party. And now we have to decide who will be who and what shall we do. In this part pupils from the 5 till 10 forms party will take. What are your suggestions?
P1: We should have a contest of posters.
T: It’s a good idea! What else?
P2: To make a lot of pumpkins with terrible grins and lights in then.
T: Of course, we will.
P3: To draw monster pictures to frighten the little ones.
T: Just don’t frigthen them to death.
All pupils: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha…
T: Any other ideas?
P4: Why not make a dress-up parade? I’ll be a vampire.
P5: I’ll be a witch.
P6: Me too.
P1: I’ll be a demon.
P2, P3: We’ll be evil spirits.
P7: I’ll be a monster.
P8: I’ll be a black cat.
T: OK, OK. Wait, Wait... A large carnival procession. Well, then make your costumes. And don’t forget, we should write and send out invitations to our party.
Next time we’ll talk about when Hallowe’en was first celebrated and why a pumpkin is a symbol of this festival.

(Класна кімната. Граеє музика. Діти з рулонами паперу, пензликами, олівцями, ножицями бігають по сцені. На авансцені – перекидний календар. На календарі – 27 жовтня. До календарю підходять учні а перелистують його. На стіні висять кілька постерів. Дівчата за столом роблять костюми. Хтось вирізаеє гарбуз. Все це – на фоні музики, без слів. Та ось– на календарі 30 жовтня.)
Scene 4
(На календарі – 31 жовтня. На сцені та в залі запалюються свічки в гарбузах. На сцену виходить ведуча.)
Ведуча: Now we know and can tell you that Hallowe’en was first celebrated many centuries ago by Celtic priests called Druids. They thought that Hallowe’en was the night when the witches came out. As they were afraid of the witches they put on different clothes and painted their faces to deceive the evil spirits.
This festival is widely celebrated inAmerica

(Перед сценою розкидане сухе листя. На сцену выходить учениця, читає вірш “October” by John Updike):
The month is amber,
Gold and brown.
Blue ghosts of smoke
Float through the town.
Great V’s of geese
Honk overhead,
And maples turn
A fiery red.
Frost bites the lawn,
The stars are slits
In a black cat’s eye
Before she spits.
At last, small witches,
Goblins, hags,
And pirates armed
With paper bags.
Their costumes hinged
On safety pins,
Go haunt a night
Of pumpkin grins.
(На сцену під музику выбігають учні молодших класівв з сухим листям в руках. Вони танцюють танець листопада.)

(На сцені – учні в костюмах.)
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
What will you wear?
P2: I might wear a blanket
And be a brown bear.
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
Who will you meet?
P2: I might meet a princess
Skipping down the street.
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
What will you do?
P3: I might go trick-or-treating.
How about you?
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
What will you be?
P3: I might be a pirate
On the deep blue sea.
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
What will you see?
P4: I might see a Jack-o’-Lantern
Winking at me.
P1: Hallowe’en is coming.
What will you be?
P4: It’s a secret,
So, wait and see!
(Jack-o’-Lantern, учень в масці гарбуза, потім Друіди.)
Jack-o’-Lantern: My name is Jack and here is my lantern made from a pumpkin. As you see, I’ve cut out slits for two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, and put a lighted candle inside. I used to play practical jokes on the devil and I’m punished for it.
D1: We are Druids, Celtic priests. We are observing the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. We are not spirits or ghosts. But this night they and witches all come out.We don’t want them to hurt us. That’s why we are dressed this way. We want to deceive the evil spirits.
(За сценою крики відьми та її слуг. Друіди та Джек налякані. Джек присідає на землю, Друіди танцюють навколо нього танок “Looby-Loo” під бій барабанів.)
Here we dance Looby-Loo,
Here we dance Looby-Light,
Here we dance Looby-Loo
All on a Saturday night.
1. I put my right hand in,
I put my right hand out,
I give my right hand a shake, shake, shake
And turn myself about.
2. I put my left hand in...
3. I put my right foot in...
4. I put my left foot in...
5. I put my whole self in...
And turn myself about.
(Гаснет свет. Сцена пустеет.)
Scene 8
(З криками на сцену виходить Старша відьма . В руках у неї плакат “Welcome to the Spook House!”)
Старша Відьма: Now my house is fine and clean.
We’ll have some fun for Hallowe’en.
A party, a party, a very fine party!
Whom shall we ask to come?
Молодша відьма: We’ll ask the bat and the witches’ cat
The owl and the howl, a sheet and the towel…
Старша відьма: Hello! Dear witches, wizards, ghosts, and others like that.
We’ve gathered here to celebrate Hallowe’en, the witches’ holiday, our holiday.
Ghost 1: If you want to be frightened to death, don’t miss it!
Only here you’ll find yourselves trembling with horror.
Do attend the spook house!
Ghost 2: Boys and girls,
Hand in hand
Go to the Witches’ Land.
The sky is dark,
The stars are blue.
Oh, Witches’ Land!
How do you do!

(У лісі біля костра сидить група дітей одягнених в костюиы. Вони розповідають один одному страшні історії. Почувши крик, діти ховаються.)
Scene 10
(Знову з’являється відьма.)
Відьма: No sun – no moon!
No morn – no noon –
No dawn – no dusk – no proper time of day –
No sky – no early view-
No distance looking blue –
No road – no street – no “t’other side of the way” –
No end to any row –
No indications where the crescents go –
No top to any streeple –
No recognition of familiar people!
(Літає по сцені. Піднімає вітер. Потім різко затихає.)
Відьма (злякано): Hark! What is it? I can see here little clear spirits!
(Поспішає піти. З’являються світлі привиди в білих костюмах зі свічками в руках.)
(Танець світлих привидів.)

(З’являється Ранкова Зірка.)
Morning Star: The night is ending,
The day is descending;
Through clouds like ashes
The red sun flashes.
(Під музику всі актори виходять на сцену.)
